I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for sweets! My daddy being a baker may have something to do with it, but I absolutely adore goodies!
My 5 Guilty Pleasures Include:
- Mountain Dew Baja Blast. I have been drinking these religiously for the past 8 years. I sure do hope they keep them in the stores from here on. Taco Bell has gotten way too expensive!
2. Homemade Baked Cheesecake. This recipe was passed down from my daddy, and used to be a highly requested dessert when he worked at the bakery. It is about 6 inches tall, and is SO sweet; one slice is more than enough. It is so rich and creamy, and it melts in your mouth. I have been making these since I was about 8, and I NEVER tire of them! They are quite pricey to make, but the experience makes every penny spent worth it!
3. In years past, my mama always made sure to stop by Ham n’ Goody’s to purchase a Tea Cake for my birthday. SO much better than a birthday cake! Then they closed up shop. Every year I hoped that a miracle would happen, and that I would get a surprise Tea Cake. Needless to say, I remained super disappointed! Then, why my husband and I started dating, I found out that my sister-in-law was a prodigy in the kitchen. She makes Tea Cakes that are to die for, and she always makes sure to send me home with a gallon sized Ziploc full. Ah! Pure ecstasy!
4. My love for Cadbury Mini Eggs began when I was a toddler. My dad always made sure to stock up at Easter. If you’ve never had them, you MUST go in search of some. They have a crispy candy shell on the outside, while the inside is filled with soft, melt in your mouth milk chocolate. This is one candy that I hide and hoard.
5. Raspberry Lime Pie. My step-mom ran across this recipe when I was younger, and upon first bite, I fell in love. I can sit down and finish one off by myself. I suppose that is why I remained “pleasantly plump” when I was young. What can I say?!
I felt compelled to share this recipe with you. Let me know what you think…

Raspberry Lime Pie
Serves 8
Ingredients:
1 can (14 ounces) Sweetened Condensed Milk
½ Cup Lime Juice
1 Container (8 ounces) Frozen Whipped Topping (Thawed)
A few drops of red food coloring-OPTIONAL
1 Cup Fresh Raspberries
1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust (9 inches) Baked and Cooled
**Raspberries and Fresh Mint for garnish**
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, stir together milk and lime juice. Mixture will begin to thicken. Mix in whipped topping and food coloring, if desired. Gently fold in raspberries. Spoon mixture into pie crust. Chill.
Garnish with additional raspberries and mint leaves.
NOTE: I always seem to end up needing 2 pie shells for the mixture. Just thought you should know. I also add 1 Cup of Fresh Blueberries to the recipe. I have used frozen raspberries in the past, and they do just as well. Supposedly, if you use frozen over fresh, they sink to the bottom of the pie. I haven’t experienced this problem. Just wanted to throw in these additional thoughts.
