Tell All Tuesday Series: Missing in Action

Q-Did you miss me?

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

A-I sure missed you! When I began my little adventure (my Insurance class) back in November, I had NO idea that I would be absent for this long! I (foolishly) was under the impression that I would come out of the class licensed, and ready to tackle a new job, if that was the direction in which I felt was going to be best for my family’s future. Needless to say, that wasn’t EXACTLY how it turned out!

Class was great…a vacation from reality, if you will. But, as soon as class was over, I was thrown back into my “GO, GO, GO!” routine. Before I knew it, Thanksgiving was upon us, then Christmas, and all through the hustle and bustle of the season, I was working SUPER long hours. Then, out of the blue, I was called in to interview with HCA, which I ended up accepting. When I wasn’t working or running, I was hitting the thousands of flash cards that I had made, trying my best to retain all that I had learned. I finally tested out this past weekend, and am happy to announce that I passed BOTH exams! My hard work and countless hours of studying paid off!

So, I have spent the last two weeks as an HCA employee. I am a Patient Care Liaison, and work in a call center assisting patients who are looking for new physicians. I will eventually be moving over to ER Follow-Up, which basically means that I will be assisting patients who have recently visited the Emergency Room get scheduled for their follow up appointments. So far, I am truly loving my job! I have been working in child care for the past 12 years, and I must admit, it is a refreshing change (a breath of fresh air) interacting with adults on a daily basis, rather than children. There are certain aspects of the job that I do miss, but I am thoroughly enjoying this new opportunity! We even had a “Popcorn Party” on National Popcorn Day! I don’t know of too many organization’s that do that; do you?!  It is a fun atmosphere, and everyone has welcomed me with open arms. I am looking forward to seeing where this new path takes me!

I hope that things start to slow down soon, so that I may get accustomed to this new routine.  I am  anxious to get back to my crafts (oh, how I miss them!) and back to my writing.  Without these two, I am incomplete!  I am super disappointed that I’m not going to be able to meet my deadline for my book/workbook/inspiration pack, but know that I will complete it when the time is right.  Just wanted to check in with you, and let you know that I’m still kicking.  I’m SO happy to be back!

What ONE famous person would you love to meet?

I would love to meet Stephen King. Years ago, when hubby and I first began dating (and his insecurities were in full force) he asked me if I was talking to anyone else. Me, being the smart ass and bookworm that I am, told him, “Well, of course!” I was having an affair with Stephen King’s mind. I never tire of reading this man’s work, exploring the worlds that he creates and resides in, and I can only assume that it would be the meeting of a lifetime; an intriguing encounter.

The Missing Link

We watched the grand baby last Saturday morning, and prior to his arrival, hubby and I made sure to straighten up the blankets on the bed so he would have a nice flat surface to play on. While slinging the blankets around, hubby’s NEW tablet went flying through the air and landed face down on our hardwood floor. NO!!! Fortunately, we had purchased the replacement coverage, so it was just a matter of going up and talking to our trusty Geek Squad.

After dropping the grand baby off and picking up a new replacement tablet, we decided to grab  some lunch. We stopped in at the Olive Garden (my favorite!) and low and behold, our waitress was one of my old kids from work. Years ago, before I started teaching preschool, I spent my days and evenings with the school-agers. I had the oldest group (4th and 5th grade) and there were about 6 girls that surrounded me at all times. They loved me, respected me, admired me, and loved our brainstorming sessions. At that time I was still in the “research” phase of my business ventures, so we would come up with different ideas for craft projects, books, games, and so forth. One of my girls loved to draw, so I told her that one day we should collaborate together (as adults) on a book. Who would’ve thought that it would actually come to pass?!

If you’ve been with me for a while, then you know that I’ve had an “Heirloom” picture book (you know, those sentimental books they sell at Hallmark) waiting in the wings for several years now. I even wrote a post about it-Future Best Seller-Check it our HERE.

The 2 factors preventing it’s publication have been:

  •  A Publisher/Funding for Self-Publishing
  •  An Illustrator

Back in July (at my daughter’s birthday party) my step-father expressed an interest in financially backing a self publishing venture, so I tried my hand at putting together some illustrations. Unfortunately, my hand drawn and digital portrayal of the story just doesn’t do it justice! I had sat down again this past Friday evening with a new angle to try my hand at, only to get disgusted and set it aside. I suppose the Universe was trying to tell me something.

So, throughout the course of our meal, Hope and I caught up, and she shared with us some of her recent drawings (she just so happens to be attending Art School). OMG!!! She’s absolutely AMAZING!!! Her “style” syncs up PERFECTLY with mine; you couldn’t plan out a better match, let me tell you! My missing link, that piece that completes my puzzle, has been placed before me on a silver platter. Needless to say, we are hooking up this weekend to get our collaboration going. I am NOT going to pass up this opportunity! We can rise to the top together…what fun! It’ll be nice to finally have a creative partner. It gets SO lonely sometimes!

I’m hoping to get this bad boy printed up and available in shops in time for Christmas…

The Law of Attraction is finally opening the right doors for me. Do you have any experiences with the Law of Attraction? I would LOVE to hear YOUR story!

Tell All Tuesday Series: Goals in Progress

Q-What goal are you working on right now?

Always Working

A-Every waking hour that isn’t devoted to my day job has been spent on my upcoming book.  I live and breathe it!  To see it finally coming together after 12 long years of haunting my mind is thrilling to say the least.  I have been spending a lot of time designing the workbook that accompanies the book, and realized that a lot of the stickers that I have been creating would make a fantastic new addition to my Etsy shop.  Everyone loves stickers!  I anticipate posting my first pack by the weekend.  Anxious to bring some sunshine into the lives of others!

With that being said…

What goal are YOU working on right now?

Exciting Announcement

Are you stuck in a perpetual, never ending rut where you often lose sight of what to think, say, or even do? Do you feel trapped by your present reality with no prospect of freedom in the near future? Do you absolutely loathe rolling out of bed and heading off to your prison (a.k.a. Job) each and every day? Do you feel as though no matter how hard you try, you just can never get ahead? Honestly, how many times have you crouched down into a corner, crying your eyes out, praying desperately for a drastic change in your life?

Exciting Announcement

If any of this sounds familiar, then I have a valuable announcement for you! For the past 12 years of my life, I have been seeking out and compiling a massive list of all the answers that each of us are ultimately in search of, and it all boils down to just ONE simple question…

What is my purpose in life?

In only 6 short months, I will be releasing to the world, exactly HOW to go about finding that ONE personalized answer!

When I was just 26 years old, I found myself consumed by a mid life crisis, far sooner than I should have. My sanity, reason, and logic had completely left the building! But, it was during this catastrophic period that I found the answers that I had been searching so desperately for. I unknowingly underwent an intense and emotional self-evaluation session, and soon discovered SO many things about myself that I had previously been clueless to. Since that time I have been progressing forward with pure intention and purpose. This was a very difficult time for me, one fraught with disappointment and heartache, but one that I wouldn’t trade for love or money. This transformation process allowed me to forgive myself and others, and to leave the past back where it belonged. It provided me the tools, insight, and the path that I was intended to travel down next. To say it was a life changing experience would be the understatement of a lifetime!

This step-by-step transformation process is 100% effective (provided you are honest and putting your heart and soul into it), and I am living proof that it really does work, as I have progressed From Food Stamps…to a Future. This discovery quest not only enabled me to make peace with all that had been sent to destroy me, but also presented a single idea on which to grow and prosper from. This was my seed. I planted that idea, watered and cared for it daily, and it has caused me to blossom into the empowered and driven woman that stands before you today. It helped me to realize where my passions lay, what I wanted and expected from myself and others, and which steps I needed to take to get me to my ideal life. In short, it opened that door so I could finally start following my dreams.

Because of this process, I was able to formulate my ultimate 5 year plan. It has served as the foundation of my blog, it fueled my passion to create Krista Kemp Designs on Etsy, and it has inspired me to strive for bigger and better things at each new stage along the way. It is opening doors so that I may expand and branch out into new industries. Speaking, coaching, and leading all stand in my future, and it will eventually allow me to open my organization to help those in need that others turn away. Each idea, each entity that my imagination concocts and entertains all fit perfectly together to construct that grand puzzle which is my future. Each and every avenue that I want to tackle coincides with a project that I’ve already begun. My future, my fate is answering each question before it’s ever even realized or presented. My destiny paved the road for me years ago, and it has been leading the way to accomplishing my dreams since. I no longer dread life, I now look forward to it!

Motivational speakers, life coaches, and your daily influences always want to throw around the idea of following your dreams, being successful in your life, turning your burning passions into future wealth and abundance, and so forth. But, the vast differences among us, our unique lifestyles make it difficult to provide just ONE specific proven way of going about it. There is no such guidebook in existence! What may work brilliantly when executed for one person, may be an utter flop for the next. This step by step process will provide YOUR unique answer, and aid you in realizing what steps YOU need to take to get the ball rolling. If you are serious about changing your present reality, and are willing to dedicate yourself to making the necessary changes to create your ideal life, then you have officially received your Golden Ticket. A professor of mine once said, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life. How are you going to spend it?

Tell All Tuesday Series: Freedom

Q-What would FREEDOM mean to you?

Freedom

A-A few nights ago, I ran across a video on YouTube that covered this exact question. A young man and his lovely new wife were up to their eyeballs in student loans and consumer debt. They had just had their first child, and were debating on whether or not to purchase their first home. After all, that IS the traditional order of things. But, everything within them was screaming, “NO! Don’t do it!” as the already existing financial strain was beginning to take a toll on their marriage. They sat down together at the kitchen table and took the time necessary to HONESTLY evaluate this one single question.

They concluded that their idea of “Freedom” was to rid themselves of all but 2 backpacks worth of possessions, and travel around Australia. That night was the ultimate tipping point of their existence, and it opened up doors that have made all the difference in their lives. They got rid of all of their possessions, paid off each loan and debt, and then hopped a plane to Australia with baby girl in tow. They had decided on a change (a drastic one at that), they executed their plan in a timely fashion, and they haven’t looked back since! This experience completely liberated them, and allowed them to follow their dream. They agree that it was BY FAR the best decision that they have ever made!

In my present reality, there are 4 factors that I believe would grant me Freedom…

One: Purge my Possessions:

I have been working on purging my home for a good year now, and have made a dent, but after watching that (and several other) videos, I have concluded that it’s time to increase my speed. While I HAVE been diligently putting my “Sell” items up in the attic as I go through closets and drawers, and have been posting and selling items on numerous online venues, my possessions are at a snails pace getting out that door! People blow up my phone constantly (sometimes waking me in the wee hours of the morning), wanting to meet up (Gotta have it, Can’t wait!!!), then…CRICKETS. I’m on the verge of just donating it all!

Advantages to Purging:

  • No Clutter
  • Easier to keep house-healthier environment
  • Free up time to focus on more important things
  • Less stress and worry
  • Monetary profit can pay down outstanding debts

Two: Work from Home:

My husband is almost twice my age. The older he gets, the more dependent he becomes on me, both mentally and physically. Plus, I only have a few years left to enjoy having my babies at home. I work from home on all of my business ventures anyway, so why not put myself into the position to focus on these projects full-time?!

Advantages to Working from Home:

  • Be there to care for my children and my husband
  • Sick days-even when I feel awful, I can still make progress and keep the funds rolling in
  • No juggling act to concern myself with in regards to appointments and deadlines
  • Exhaustion-If I NEED a 30 minute power nap, I’ll have that option
  • Need I say…All of the comforts of home

Three: Become a Property Owner:

As a renter, there are always those nagging hypothetical scenarios that plague you in the back of your mind…What if they won’t let us renew…Sure wish I could paint these stark white walls…I wish I could have a pet for the kids…If I could only grow a victory garden…Ah, to have a pool… Not to mention the fact that a mortgage is generally a WHOLE lot cheaper than renting. Yes, if something goes wrong or needs fixed/replaced, it’s all on you, BUT each item that you upgrade ONLY benefits the ultimate cause. You’re making an investment towards your future, and the resale value of your home, if you so choose.

Advantages of Owning Property:

  • Freely making changes to your property
  • It’s an investment for your future, or can serve as estate for your family
  • Saving money each month to use in other directions
  • No chance of hard feelings if a disagreement occurs with your landlord
  • The satisfaction of OWNING in and of itself

Four: Putting Myself on a Pedestal:

Being a mother, a grandmother, and a wife, my natural instinct is to put the needs of those most important to me FIRST. Whatever time, money, or energy that is left at the end of the day, I can devote to my needs and wants. While (in theory) this is a good mindset to have, MY needs are JUST as important as theirs are! I need to start placing myself higher up on that pedestal, and allowing myself the things that I want and need from life. As the old cliche goes… “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy!”

Advantages of Placing Myself on a Pedestal:

  • A happy, balanced life
  • I’d be making an investment in myself, which only increases my value to others
  • The more time I spend on me, the less stress and worry I will have, thus the happier and more content I will be
  • I will be better able to appreciate each blessing in my life
  • If I focus more on me, I will be agitated less, have fewer mental/creative blocks, and will increase the years that I have left to live

These 4 categories, I believe, will allow me the freedoms that I need from life. So, what does FREEDOM mean to YOU?

***I do realize that today is Wednesday.  This was my post for yesterday.  My granddaughter got sick at school, and I was tending to her until her mother got done with work.***

My First Product Launch

I decided several weeks ago that today, August 26, 2016, I was going to unleash details about my newest product. I have been compiling information for the past 12 years of my life, and have finally decided on the direction in which I want to use this knowledge. My original game plan was to create an informative guide for those in need, then I thought it would be more appropriate as a detailed e Course, but have decided instead to create the Ultimate Inspiration Pack.

Follow Your Dreams

We all talk about following our dreams, fueling our passions, but let me ask you this…how do you go about STARTING down this path? My Inspiration Pack will provide you with all the steps necessary to ensure that you start your journey successfully. I will be providing more details as time progresses.

I have been working on an informative breakdown of this new, FANTASTIC product, but my explanation is a bit unorganized at the moment. Last Sunday I spent the day in the Emergency room, and have been on 3 antibiotics since, and then Monday evening my son was involved in his first car accident. So, needless to say, my explanation is clouded by a mother’s emotions and a fuzzy medicated head. This product deserves my best, so I will save it for another day. I wish each of you an exciting weekend worth remembering!

Till next time…
