5 Things You Can Do To Brighten Someone’s Day

Brighten Someone's Day

Do you have a friend, family member, or a co-worker that needs a little cheering up? Well, I have compiled a list of 5 things that you can do to brighten their day. Choose whichever your bank account and schedule will allow.

1: Customized Gift Baskets-There are a wide array of themed baskets to choose from, but you need to choose one that coincides with their interests. Stuff that baby with their favorites, and watch their face light up. Your thoughtful gesture will mean the world to them!

2: Snail Mail-With the ease and accessibility of technology, old fashioned forms of staying in contact have fallen to the wayside. While text messaging and email are a great way to stay in touch, there is just nothing like getting a card or a handwritten letter in your mailbox. Store bought or handmade cards with a special sentiment enclosed are a great way to brighten a loved one’s day. Give it a try and turn their frown upside down.

3: Photo Books and Scrapbooks-Tell me one person who doesn’t enjoy looking through old photos from their life and relishing in that special moment of reflection? The thought put into a photo book or a scrapbook will mean the world to your recipient, and creating a masterpiece of memories will be a treat for you as well. Make sure to include your “Frozen in Time” images of memories that you have created together. It will make the gift that much more important.

4: Lunch Date-These are special moments that can be shared, and are enjoyed by everyone involved. You can either plan to have a lunch date, or you can surprise them at work. Either way, it will bring a smile to their face.

5: Surprise Party-Have you ever planned a “Just Because” surprise party for someone before? It’s super special, because it has the elements of 2 parties in 1! Most people have a reason for a party, and I’ve never run into anyone that has arranged/been given a surprise party, have you? They just seem a bit uncommon, which is what makes this gesture that much more important. You can plan it as simple or elaborate as you prefer. Either way, a smile will be plastered on your recipients face and it will be a memory that they will love sharing with others!

Well, there you have it; my quickie list of 5 things that you can do to brighten someone’s day. I hope that it has inspired you to do for others this week. It is rainy and dreary here this week, and if your town is anything like mine, I can guarantee there are a TON of people who could benefit from this simple act of kindness. Spread the love baby!

What would you add to the list?

  1. Life, kids and a glass of red says:

My girlfriends and I send cards regularly – just to say hi. So lovely to get snail mail that isn’t a bill! I love to bake something for a friend, or if I’m cooking a big batch of bolognese sauce, I put some in a container for a friend to keep in their freezer. Makes things easier for them if work is hectic, kids have been sick etc.
